The Beginning

Maurice is the founder who had the initial concept of creating a mini estate where he developed the grounds with excavating lakes, building the Retreat and landscaping surrounding 36 acres. Initially used for fishing and clay shooting purposes, Maurice’s wife (Avril) and son (Greg) assisted with the delivery of sessions to groups. Field of Dreams then hosted several charity events namely for Marie Curie Cancer whereby over £20,000 was raised.

Prominent Venue

Following the steady growth of the business, Greg who had originally sought to become a PE teacher changed his focus and looked to expand Field of Dreams. Increasing number of activity days, charity events and corporate events it soon became apparent that Field of Dreams was becoming a prominent event venue.

Weddings

Weddings began in 2011 whereby the groom’s father who knew Maurice, asked if his son could use the Retreat for his wedding reception. Following its success, interest was sparked and wedding enquiries grew.

Greg focused more on enhancing facilities to provide a greater visitor experience at Field of Dreams. Purchasing a stretch tent, building a lakeside pergola, constructing a bar area and most recently commencing the build of a generous self-catering cabin.

Continuing to provide a unique, beautiful, relaxed venue for weddings, corporate events and friends to explore activities, relax and celebrate special events we strive to make your time at Field of Dreams as memorable as possible.
